In actual production, incomplete drying is one of the common causes of downstream problems. If the surface of the plastic sheet contains moisture, steam will be generated inside the barrel during the subsequent extrusion stage, which can cause problems such as extrusion fluctuations, particle bubbles, and broken strips. Moisture may also be trapped in thick walled sheets, which can cause internal voids in the particles during subsequent extrusion granulation due to material vaporization and expansion.

 

This Plastic Dryer adopts a horizontal axis and high-speed drum design, which achieves centrifugal dehydration by creating a precise speed difference between the rotating drum and the internal spiral feeder. At the same time, it can automatically feed and discharge without interruption, making it compatible and adaptable with the entire automated production line. This machine can efficiently remove surface moisture after cleaning, providing stable dry materials for the granulation line.

How This Dryer Works

The machine uses mechanical force to remove water:

1.Wet flakes enter the bottom of the rotating drum;

2.Centrifugal force throws water outward through mesh screens;

3.Material moves upward via rotating paddles or screw flights;

4.Dry flakes discharge at the top; water collects in outer housing and drains;

 

Key design parameters:

Rotor speed: 800–1500 rpm (generates centrifugal force);

Screen mesh: 1–3 mm openings (retains flakes, passes water);

Residence time: 5–15 seconds (rapid water removal);

 

Integration into the Recycling Line

Typical Position: Washer → (Drain conveyor) → Centrifugal Dryer → Storage or extruder feed.

Q: Can one dryer handle multiple materials?

A: Yes. Centrifugal dryers work for most plastic flakes if geometry is similar. Film flakes may require different paddle design to prevent wrapping. We can configure for mixed-material operation.
